Life Update

Hello! Welcome to the Achieve the Impossible Today blog. This blog is all about my journey with Alpha Mannosidosis and achieving the impossible. It’s been over a month since my last post and it’s only because of my non-scheduled, but busy life. I *try* to post every week or every other week, but that sometimes does not happen…

In today’s post, I am diving into what has been going on over the past month and a half. A lot has gone on and healing is happening every single day. Buckle up, we are going to go for a quick ride.

Time Is Flying

The last blog post was September 17th and I can not wrap my head around that!! Life apparently picked up speed and I was not working on writing blogs. Other things had captivated my attention. It is challenging for me to remember what has taken place and so, I look back at my calendar and notebook.

The one word that comes to mind when looking back is… healing. The past couple of months have been filled with things and feeling spacey was not a factor. I was able to keep up, I was able to experience things I haven’t in years, and I was just able to live life to the fullest. I am filled with gratitude as I write this. I’ve been wanting to sit down and write a blog, but I think I had to take a break. I am now able to see what has gone on during the past two months and let it sink in.

Living Life

Below are a few things I’ve been able to do that are outside of my typical day to day life. These times were spent with friends and family. For the first time, two of these trips were a few days and I was not spacey. There is healing happening and it is the most exciting and most beautiful thing to experience.

  • Apple Picking w/ Chi Alpha
  • Resonate (prayer & worship night w/ multiple churches)
  • Trip to Raleigh, North Carolina (sharing my story)
  • Chi Alpha Fall Retreat
  • Longwood Gardens trip
  • Celebrating 19 years since bone marrow transplant
  • Pumpkin Bash

While all of this is happening, God has also been teaching me how to love properly. It is so easy to judge and not love how He loves each and every one of us. He’s been teaching me of His grace and His mercy that He has for His children. We all have the opportunity of running towards Him with our challenges and we know that He will give us everything that we need in that moment.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin. Let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Hebrews 4:15-16 NIV

New, Yet Exciting Adventures

During these past two months, the Lord has been stirring new ideas and things for me to pursue. It can be hard at times because I have my heart set on doing certain things during the days. At the end of the day, I wish to do the things He calls me to because there is always a purpose to those things.

One of these things I have posted onto my personal Facebook and instagram accounts already. It is out there and I am writing a book. I have wanted to write a book for the past two years, but it wasn’t until recently that God gave me the go ahead on the book. This book will specifically be focused on how God called me to Him and how He has healed me from depression.

Another thing is I am currently learning how to play guitar. I am working on practicing regularly. It can be challenging with having busy schedules. When I do practice, it feels as if it’s normal and something that I truly enjoy (well at least until my fingers start hurting).

Lastly, I have been working on re-organizing my closet. Half of my closet is for clothes and the other half is for crafty things. I have a double closet and I am so thankful for this space. As I’ve been in the re-organization process, I have felt called to start loom knitting again. And then an idea was sparked! I want to start creating hats and other fun things to sell at craft fairs. It’s been a good 8 years since I last sold items at craft fairs and boy do I miss it!! More on this coming soon 🙂

Healing Update

God has healed me from feeling spacey and He has also been working on restoring a friendship. The most recent healing happened about three weeks ago! I stopped biting my nails 🙂 It was a very random thing and we (my family and I and my Dr) were all very excited.

Thanks for stopping by and reading this blog! Make sure to follow Achieve the Impossible Today, so you don’t miss a post. I am working on posting more consistently. If you have any prayer requests, feel free to comment them or contact me. As always, He can and He will help you through everything, we just need to seek Him first.
