March Goals

Is it just me or did February come and go like the snap of a finger? It is crazy to think that we have already gone through two whole months in 2021. One of the things I wanted to do this year was to review every month and create a plan for the following month. Since I have this blog now, wanted to share what my goals are for March! Before we get to March’s goals, I am going to do a quick review of February.

February Review

  • Transformational Month
    • Change
    • Realizations
    • Community
  • Overall Lesson: Learning the importance of trusting that God is moving in ways that we can’t comprehend and we must trust in Him with all our heart.

To start off with, one of my doctors that I have been seeing for the past four years has moved to a different state. I am in the process of finding a new doctor at the moment. I was able to think about how much I have grown in the past four years. This specific doctor has been with me during the hardest seasons of my life. I am not one for change and this has been a very large change in my life.

Next, I realized that I have been idolizing the challenges that I face everyday. I deal with a decent amount of physical issues that limit some of the things I do. Some of these issues include blurry eyes (random times), balance issues (even when sitting down), headaches (possibly migraines), etc. I’ve been feeling stuck in my issues and knew life was not about my issues. At this point, I started praying and worshipping God more than I previously was. I gave it all to Him and I felt peace about what I’ve been experiencing. I am still dealing with the issues, but not facing them with my own strength. At the moment, I am working on everything that I would like to and adapting in any way that I need to.

Finally, I have been around amazing people this past month. I am in multiple bible studies, attending church, and connecting with people in general. I am in community with others and making friends I never thought I would have. I have always felt “different” and never really thought I belonged. It has been refreshing to find and to be around every single person in this season of life. I am so thankful for all of the conversations and moments.

March Growth Areas

Before getting into everything I would like to achieve in March, I would like to reflect on the areas that I need to work on during the month of March. These are simply areas that I lacked and would like to spend time working on. The two areas that need work are exercise and reading.

  1. Exercise
    • Currently, I am going to a weekly kickboxing session. I am not a fan of saying this, but I really found I like punching things. I never in a million years, thought I would have the strength to punch something. I am a very caring and gentle person, apparently with a lot of strength. I really would like to strive to exercise more than once a week to move toward a healthier lifestyle.
  2. Reading
    • Something I absolutely love, but keep giving myself excuses as to why I can’t read. I have eyes that blur randomly and always lean on that excuse. I recently thought of reading and listening to the audio version of the books (pro tip: you can listen to audio books on YouTube!!).

March Goals

  1. Writing
    • Writing has become a way for me to process what is going on in my life as well as a way to get away from all of the issues I face every single day. I would like to write one blog post every single day during the month of March. I am not going to have a specific time for these posts, so they will be sporadic every day.
  2. Exercise
    • As I mentioned above, I do kickboxing once a week. I am striving to live a healthy life. I eat healthy, but my exercise is suffering. To start off, I would like to do 10 minutes of a simple workout consisting of planks, squats, and sit-ups 5 days a week during the month of March.
  3. Reading
    • I also mentioned reading above as something I did not achieve in February. No matter the excuse, I would like to read every single day for 30 minutes. This could be in the form of an audio book, kindle book, or a physical book. I am hoping to finish reading Radical by David Platt and Atomic Habits by James Clear in the month of March.

For reminders about the above topics, I am writing Post It notes and sticking them on my bathroom mirror. My memory is not the greatest and I want to hold myself accountable for the above goals. I look forward to working towards these goals this month.

Do you have any goals for the month of March? If you do, let me know in the comments. I would love to hear what you are trying to achieve during the month of March.

As you just read, I will be writing a blog post every day in March. It might be a challenge on some days as I have certain things in my schedule planned, but I will make it happen. These posts will be about different topics, what’s going on in my life, and more! If you would like to follow me on this journey, don’t forget to subscribe!
