A Transformation I Never Imagined…

Hey there! Welcome if you are new & welcome if you’ve been here previously. Some of you may know this, while others may not. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and I thought this would be a great time to share my journey through depression. I will occasionally share this story and of course do not want to overwhelm you with one part of my life. God really took me from the valley and created a whole new person.

*If depression or mental health topics are hard for you to read, just stick around until the end of the next paragraph 🙂

God sees where you are and absolutely adores you. You may not see a way out of the journey you are on, but He does. He sent His one and only son, Jesus to die for all of our sins. He doesn’t want you to suffer. His arms are wide open to you because He loves you oh so much. He has called you by your name ❤

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me life down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23 NIV

A Recent Revelation

2022 –> 3.5 years of knowing God, joyful, life giving, so many wonderful friends
2017 –> suicidal, depressed, anxious, sad, self harm, no friends

He turns graves into gardens. It is amazing to see what He’s done in the past 3.5 years. I am finally stand-in ton my two feet only because of His grace. I am in a season of listening to what He is calling me to. Most recently, He has been waking me up early and putting the desire of reading His Word (aka the Bible) first thing before I do anything else.

How this has happened…

I could go on and on about how this has happened, but to put it plainly it resulted from people who spoke life into me and God moments.

Back in 2017 I was not following God. I thought my life was practically over even though I had just graduated from high school. I was in a season of life that was filled with feeling super lonely and worthless. I refused to take any medication that could help the depression and what I was experiencing.

In 2018, I was still experiencing depression, but it wasn’t as bad as 2017. My friend asked if I wanted to go to church and I said yes. That yes ultimately changed the trajectory of the rest of my life. God met me at that church service by showing me a memory from when I was younger and in the hospital (I had no memory of what I went through). I was hooked and wanted to learn more about this whole christianity thing. I started attending church regularly.

In 2019, God placed Godly women into my life and found the church I call home still to this day. 2019 was the year that the depression and everything else that I was experiencing went away. At first, I didn’t realize the depression had gone away. But it did and I no longer had any thoughts, anxiety, sadness,

Since I have been connected to an amazing community through church, I have grown tremendously. My heart is so full and I am so thankful to where God has placed me. I am working on trusting that His plan is better than mine. In reality, it is. I am so excited to continue sharing what He places on my heart.

In a challenging season??

If you find yourself in a challenging season, lean into Him. He will help you through His Word. His Word is the truth and what we all need to be hearing daily. In His Word, you will find that He sent His one and only son to die for your sins. He loves you so much. This world can be very overwhelming and confusing. When we seek Him, He will help us in every way that we need.

Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

Psalm 28:6-7 NIV

Stop & Learn

Story Time

This past week has been. reset. Last Wednesday, I broke my toe next to the pinky toe. I highly recommend not breaking a toe. The second and hopefully last bone I break! Through this experience, I have learned that all ten toes are needed and such a blessing from God. I’ve had to change some things up, so I wouldn’t overdo it with my broken toe. I wanted to ensure healing could happen and did not want to put any extra strain on this toe.

Is It Really an Inconvenience?

This whole situation really got me thinking. Why is it when bad things happen in life we think it’s an inconvenience? Maybe breaking your toe is an inconvenience at first, but maybe this particular instance was supposed to teach me a lesson and to convenience something further within my life? It definitely felt like an inconvenience at first, but I want to encourage you to take a step back and see if you can learn any lessons from life’s inconveniences.

Breaking a toe at 7am is without a doubt an inconvenience when you look at it from the lens of the day just beginning. But a week later, it is feeling better. It still hurts, but I can put weight on it and walk normally. I now see that this span of time has taught me about preparing for the season ahead. I know, I know…it sounds crazy. Let me explain!!

Let’s go on a walk down what God has been sharing with me during this past week. If I didn’t lean into Him, I never would have known. On Sunday, we had a family gathering for my grandfather’s birthday! It ended up being a great celebration and a monumental lesson from God.

One of our locations for celebrating was at the park. There were three total locations for the day! Before going to the park, I heard God whisper to me about bringing my camera to the park. And in being an obedient daughter, I brought my camera. It was actually a fantastic activity that did not involve lots of walking for me and my broken toe! I got to capture nature and the family having fun. I have put some of the pictures below.

Fun fact, I haven’t taken pictures since January and that was my second time using a camera since high school (6 years ago). To say the least, I do not know what I am doing. In this moment, God was unfolding something special. Later that night, I looked at the pictures and felt God helped me with this photoshoot. He then went on to tell me, “I am setting you free. Be the authentic, quirky, creative, purpose driven girl I’ve made you to be.”

I am very excited to start taking more pictures and using the gifts God has given me. We all have gifts. We have to be willing to learn and trust God in everything He has planned for our lives.

Sunday Gratitude

Just some quick thoughts for tonight…

Im taking a break from going through the Tony Robbins event I went to and showing some gratitude on this Sunday night.

I’m extremely grateful for everything that has ever happened in my life. Life has not been easy my friends. Life for me has been filled with twists and turns; I’m sure you can relate as well. We may wonder why things happen in life. We can ask that question all we want and still not get an answer.

I’m still not sure why bad things happen in life. My life has been filled with medical stuff that I can’t even explain to you right now. I know that everything that happens to us serves a purpose. We have to go with the flow.

I’m so thankful for having a different perspective than my peers. We all go through different situations in life and everything shapes us into the people we become. If I didn’t go through my trials, I would be half the person I am today.

I’m so thankful for the people that I’ve been surrounded with. I haven’t always had the people who are in my life at this time period and that is simply okay. I’m thankful for every person I come into contact with. I’m so thankful to be growing the relationships currently.

I’m so thankful for the ability to experience food. This past year I’ve really come to find out that I love food shopping, connecting with food, and creating food. I’m still fairly new to creating food, but that is okay. I’m enjoying this journey!

I’m deeply grateful for the life I’ve been given. Life is simply a gift and isn’t guaranteed. There’s been multiple times within my life that I’ve almost died, but haven’t. I’m so thankful that I can still be on this earth spreading joy, peace, and love.

That is all for tonight, I am grateful for everything and anything that I have been able to do in my life. What are you grateful for? I’d love to know, feel free to comment below 😊

Unleash the Power Within Day 2

I am working on getting back into the groove of writing everyday. I am enjoying this little challenge during the month of March. I may have slacked for about a week, but I am back 🙂

I am really enjoying this process of looking back at my notes from the Tony Robbins seminar, Unleash the Power Within. The days were so packed with information, it was hard to comprehend everything all at once. Well here goes day number two. Below I have listed quotes, questions & answers, and my favorite activity of the day!

“Change is never a matter of ability. It’s always a matter of motivation.” -Tony Robbins

“Everybody’s got a past. The past does not equal the future unless you live there. -Tony Robbins

Change is never a matter of ability. It’s always a matter of motivation. -Tony Robbins

“I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk. -Tony Robbins

Through the first day, we were working on finding our passion and learning how to build lasting momentum. If we do not know what we are passionate about, how are we supposed to keep going? We need a compelling future to give us fuel to keep going when life gets a little rough. Here are a few of the questions they had us going over along with a few responses I gave.

  1. What do you love?
    • people
    • opportunities
    • God
    • life in general
    • reading
  2. What do you hate?
    • complaining
    • car accidents
    • being late
    • guitar strings breaking
  3. What are you passionate about?
    • helping others
    • achieving the impossible
    • the brain
    • self development

Today was a more relaxed day than the first day. It was nice in a way to have a little bit of a break. I did feel tired because we were not jumping as much as the previous day. It was nice to figure out what I am truly passionate about in life. I am currently working on implementing 30 minutes of reading self-development books as well as reading the Bible in the mornings before my days start. If you want to see what day 1 was click here.

Thank you for reading this post! If this blog post brought you any value, please let me know in the comments! I would love to know what your thoughts are and how you are making improvements to your life. If you like what you see, don’t forget to subscribe. I am working on writing a blog post every day this month (whoops I missed about a week) and would love to see you hang around. And remember, let’s achieve the impossible today!

1,2,3…Another Week

Every Friday, I’ll be reviewing and reflecting on the hardest challenge of the week along with two Bible verses and three thoughts. Enjoy!

One Challenge

  1. Getting back to normal life – Last weekend, I was a part of Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within seminar. This event was amazing. We were constantly in a peak state and in an environment of growth. It was a fantastic experience, but going back to a life without that is a tad challenging. This week, I have been learning how to maintain the energy and good growth vibes.

Two Verses

  1. “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 NIV
  2. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Three Thoughts

  1. Reading no matter what – If you don’t know me, I have vision issues due to a brain injury. I was in a car accident a few years ago and one of my issues are my eyes. They will blur randomly when I read or do anything. I have become desensitized to them blurring. I love reading and am working on reading books everyday. I tried audio, but that was not cutting it for me. I am currently working on reading Atomic Habits by James Clear and Radical by David Platt. Both books are fantastic!
  2. Morning routines – I have not had a morning routine in a long time. I do the same things every morning, but do not have a set schedule for when I get up. I feel I am missing several hours of the day because I typically get up at 8am. This may seem early to some of you, but I would like to start getting up at 6am. I have a goal of being ready for my day by 8am, so I can achieve everything I would like to during my day and get ready for the coming months.
  3. School classes – This thought kind of goes with the above thought. I am working on picking my classes out for next semester. I took this semester off and kind of lacking a schedule. To complete my degree, I have a total of ten classes left. As of right now, it looks like I will be taking four classes that will be Tuesday-Thursday. The schedule is exciting me because of having a somewhat free school schedule. I am planning on doing my homework in the morning time after my morning routine.

If I added value, don’t forget to like and subscribe to read more of my blogs! I post a new blog every Monday & Friday. During the month of March, I am working on posting a new blog every day! Have a fantastic weekend 🙂

Let’s Achieve the Impossible Today!

Preparation Day

Remembering to Breathe

Tomorrow I am starting a Tony Robbins virtual event called Unleash the Power Within. I’m super excited, but also kinda feeling a little nervous! This event is from Thursday-Sunday and ranges from 12-14 hours per day. It is a little daunting at first hearing how long the days will be, but also exciting at the same time.

Since this event is going to entail long hours, I spent four hours of my day in the kitchen preparing food for tomorrow. Preparing the food got me very excited because I know the food I will be consuming will be healthy and energizing for my body. I am working on being able to do this event with as few issues as possible. I want to ensure that my body has the energy that it needs for these long days.

Meal Plan for Next Four Days

The current plan is to drink 16oz of lemon water when I wake up. Do some stretching and feed my dog. I am working on building a habit of meditating for at least 30 minutes, so I will be meditating for 20 minutes tomorrow morning.

For breakfast, I will be fueling my body with eggs as well as yogurt and granola. I am not one to eat breakfast because I always forget somehow… I will be cooking eggs in the morning and keeping them warm until I get hungry. The yogurt and granola will also be eaten with the eggs and will be served with some sort of fruit option.

My lunches will be consisting of smoothies with ingredients of arugula, raspberries, peanut butter/nut butter, nutritional yeast, coconut milk with multigrain crackers on the side. I don’t want to eat something super heavy that would make me tired and thought smoothies would do the trick.

Thinking about my dinners makes me very excited! I used to eat the following meal for lunch every day a year ago! These meals will consist of chicken, rice, broccoli, red pepper, and hummus. All of the chicken and rice has been cooked and the vegetables have been chopped! I throw the container in the microwave for a quick reheat and throw the hummus on top. It is a super simple, yet healthy way to end the day.

Since I will be eating food that I am not 100% used to, I prepared!! In case I get hungry and need something to nibble on throughout the day, I have lots of snacks as well! These include: carrots, celery, string beans, bananas, strawberries, apples, trail mix, and bada beans. I may end of adding these foods with my other meals. Haha 🙂

Game Plan for Blogging

I will be involved in the event tomorrow, but I will still be posting a blog every single day! Instead of a super lengthy blog, I will be posting some of the highlights from the Unleash the Power Within Event each day. I am not 100% sure the end times of each day due to the event having the possibility of running over (which I’ve heard has happened in the past).

For now, if you have any thoughts on my food preparation or would like to add something that you do within your food preparation, let me know! I am always looking for new ideas and tasty food! Make sure to subscribe if you would love to see this month long journey of posts!! And remember, lets achieve the impossible today!

Just Another Tuesday

It is currently 10:40pm (EST) and somehow the day is pretty much over. Have you ever had one of those days that seem to take forever, but when you get to the end of the day you are asking where the day went? Well that was today.

Jokingly, I was talking earlier with my instructor during a private kickboxing/exercise session about my blog and he had brought up me writing about the kickboxing session. Earlier I had laughed about this, but it is going my session will be appearing below in today’s blog.

This is day number two and I almost forgot to write the blog. As you can see, we are off to an excellent start to this blog challenge. If you are new here, I am writing a blog every day during the month of March. Since I sorta forgot about the blog, I am just going to go over my day.

Tuesdays are typically one of my favorite days because of all the different activities that I have going on. Typically we start off with a private kickboxing/exercise session, psychologist/neurofeedback appointment, chill for majority of the day, and go to a masterclass offered at the church I attend, and go to bed.

Starting off my days are always interesting to say the least. Sometimes I wake up feeling super energetic, super tired, or experiencing headaches and balance issues. This morning, I had woken up feeling a little off this morning because I was having a balance issue. I will get into this a little later, but I have brain issues and this is something I have been dealing with for months now. I fed my dog, did the dishes, and meditated before going out the door this morning.

I started my day out of my house at a private kickboxing/exercise session. I have been going to these sessions for a few months and absolutely love them. I have never really shown anger or had a way of releasing the energy within me. I learned that I really enjoy punching and hitting things, which surprises me a ton! Recently in these sessions, we have been focusing on building upper body strength as well as core strength. I am always trying to sweat as much as possible during the sessions. I really enjoy exercising and even though I woke up with my balance being off, I was still able to go to my session today and breathe through everything. I am excited to continue doing these as it is a highlight of my week.

Typically, I go to a psychologist on Monday & Tuesdays, but I saw him for the last time last week. I am currently in a transition period. My primary reason for going to this specific psychologist was for the reason of neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a treatment that is used to retrain brainwaves. It sounds odd, but it works and I have seen lots of improvements with my brain issues (being born with Alpha Mannosidosis and being in a car accident six years ago). I do get a little tired after treatment, so it was definitely nice having some extra time in my schedule which I thought wasn’t going to involve sleeping…

Soon I will continue going to a different doctor, but in the meantime I have a lot of free time in my afternoons. I was planning on preparing food for a Tony Robbins event that I am virtually going to this weekend, but I had gotten super tired, had a headache, and my balance was way off. Instead of preparing the food, I took a nap. After that nap, I did feel a lot better! Went to the vet with my dog. She is all good and healthy! One last thing I completed during my afternoon, was folding laundry.

Dinner came rather quick and right after dinner, my dad and I left for the masterclass that is held at my church. My church recently started a college and they offer a masterclass for one of the classes that the college has during the semester. Masterclasses are super cool because as attendees, we do not have to take any notes or take any tests. We are simply there to sit in and learn. The class this semester is titled Doctrine of Salvation & The Church. We are learning a decent amount of information and I am loving every moment of it!

And somehow, it is now bed time… When writing this, I found that I accomplished a decent amount of things. It is not as many things as I would have hoped, but I still accomplished things!

Thanks for reading! Like this post? Make sure to like it and comment how your Tuesday was. If you like what you are reading and would like to follow me on this journey of blogging, don’t forget to subscribe! I’ll see ya later. Have a fantastic day!

March Goals

Is it just me or did February come and go like the snap of a finger? It is crazy to think that we have already gone through two whole months in 2021. One of the things I wanted to do this year was to review every month and create a plan for the following month. Since I have this blog now, wanted to share what my goals are for March! Before we get to March’s goals, I am going to do a quick review of February.

February Review

  • Transformational Month
    • Change
    • Realizations
    • Community
  • Overall Lesson: Learning the importance of trusting that God is moving in ways that we can’t comprehend and we must trust in Him with all our heart.

To start off with, one of my doctors that I have been seeing for the past four years has moved to a different state. I am in the process of finding a new doctor at the moment. I was able to think about how much I have grown in the past four years. This specific doctor has been with me during the hardest seasons of my life. I am not one for change and this has been a very large change in my life.

Next, I realized that I have been idolizing the challenges that I face everyday. I deal with a decent amount of physical issues that limit some of the things I do. Some of these issues include blurry eyes (random times), balance issues (even when sitting down), headaches (possibly migraines), etc. I’ve been feeling stuck in my issues and knew life was not about my issues. At this point, I started praying and worshipping God more than I previously was. I gave it all to Him and I felt peace about what I’ve been experiencing. I am still dealing with the issues, but not facing them with my own strength. At the moment, I am working on everything that I would like to and adapting in any way that I need to.

Finally, I have been around amazing people this past month. I am in multiple bible studies, attending church, and connecting with people in general. I am in community with others and making friends I never thought I would have. I have always felt “different” and never really thought I belonged. It has been refreshing to find and to be around every single person in this season of life. I am so thankful for all of the conversations and moments.

March Growth Areas

Before getting into everything I would like to achieve in March, I would like to reflect on the areas that I need to work on during the month of March. These are simply areas that I lacked and would like to spend time working on. The two areas that need work are exercise and reading.

  1. Exercise
    • Currently, I am going to a weekly kickboxing session. I am not a fan of saying this, but I really found I like punching things. I never in a million years, thought I would have the strength to punch something. I am a very caring and gentle person, apparently with a lot of strength. I really would like to strive to exercise more than once a week to move toward a healthier lifestyle.
  2. Reading
    • Something I absolutely love, but keep giving myself excuses as to why I can’t read. I have eyes that blur randomly and always lean on that excuse. I recently thought of reading and listening to the audio version of the books (pro tip: you can listen to audio books on YouTube!!).

March Goals

  1. Writing
    • Writing has become a way for me to process what is going on in my life as well as a way to get away from all of the issues I face every single day. I would like to write one blog post every single day during the month of March. I am not going to have a specific time for these posts, so they will be sporadic every day.
  2. Exercise
    • As I mentioned above, I do kickboxing once a week. I am striving to live a healthy life. I eat healthy, but my exercise is suffering. To start off, I would like to do 10 minutes of a simple workout consisting of planks, squats, and sit-ups 5 days a week during the month of March.
  3. Reading
    • I also mentioned reading above as something I did not achieve in February. No matter the excuse, I would like to read every single day for 30 minutes. This could be in the form of an audio book, kindle book, or a physical book. I am hoping to finish reading Radical by David Platt and Atomic Habits by James Clear in the month of March.

For reminders about the above topics, I am writing Post It notes and sticking them on my bathroom mirror. My memory is not the greatest and I want to hold myself accountable for the above goals. I look forward to working towards these goals this month.

Do you have any goals for the month of March? If you do, let me know in the comments. I would love to hear what you are trying to achieve during the month of March.

As you just read, I will be writing a blog post every day in March. It might be a challenge on some days as I have certain things in my schedule planned, but I will make it happen. These posts will be about different topics, what’s going on in my life, and more! If you would like to follow me on this journey, don’t forget to subscribe!

1,2,3…Another Week

Every Friday, I’ll be reviewing and reflecting on the hardest challenge of the week along with two Bible verses and three thoughts. Enjoy!

One Challenge

  1. One of my doctors that I have been seeing for quite some time has left. For me, this is a huge change. He has helped me through the most difficult times in my life during these past four years. There’s a lot of uncertainty from this change as we search for a new doctor who will fit my needs and be able to help.

Two Verses

  1. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV
  2. “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7 NLT

Three Thoughts

  1. Change is the only constant – In life we will experience different obstacles & opportunities in each and every season. There is no getting away from change. Nothing will be the same as it is today. Change is the only thing that essentially stays the same. Change is one of those things that is super hard to be okay with, but when we are able to adapt to new situations, we unlock something incredible.
  2. Need for growth – As humans, we have a desire to thrive. We need to make sure that we are growing in all areas of our lives. I refer to these areas as the seven dimensions of life (spiritual, physical, emotional, occupational, intellectual, environmental, and social). If one of these areas are lacking, there’s bound to be some sort of issue that arises. When we are able to grow in all the different areas, we will see a transformation like never before.
  3. Mindset matters – Ever think to yourself about all the issues occurring in your life? It then goes down a spiral of feeling stuck and having no way out. Recently, I have been thinking about the energy that we use thinking about all of our issues. I turned it around and was like, “well…what would happen if we take our thoughts off of everything going wrong and place them into something we are passionate about?” This website is the culprit of that thought. When things are going wrong within my life, I have found I still have the capability of creating and writing.

If I added value, don’t forget to like and subscribe to read more of my blogs! I post a new blog every Monday & Friday. Have a fantastic weekend 🙂

Lets Achieve the Impossible Today!

Achieve the Impossible Today

Change of Perspective

Imagine being told the worst possible news or going through something that might cost you your life. Things happen, people get sick, accidents exist. Nothing is guaranteed in life. It is a miracle that you woke up breathing today. There may be chaos happening in your life, but you woke up breathing today. That’s truly incredible and a blessing.

You honestly have no idea when life will end and I don’t know when life will end. I want to show you that it is simply a miracle you are here reading this blog post right this second. It is a miracle that I had a chance to write this blog post. With that being said, I believe we should wake up every day with an attitude of gratitude.

My Perspective

Personally, life has been crazy and I have recently adopted this mindset of achieving the impossible today. My story consists of many times where I simply could have died. There’s been many times when I have wanted to give up. When I say, “lets achieve the impossible today,” I really mean it. The life I am living was not promised and is a gift. I have grown to learn how precious this thing called “life” is. We have one opportunity and I am tired of wasting time.

I will expand on my story in a later blog post, but my story consists of being born with a super rare genetic disease called Alpha Mannosidosis and being in a pretty serious car accident in 2015 that I walked away from. Through the years I have had memory issues, sensory issues, cognitive issues, depression issues, etc… I still deal with issues to this day, but I do my best to do the things in life that will help others. I don’t want my struggles limiting the things I do.

The Reason

Achieve The Impossible Today has come from a mindset that I have created. With that being said, I wanted to create a website that I could use as a space for me to share what’s going on in my life and how I am overcoming any obstacle that tries to stop me. I am determined to live I’ve been called to live.

We all have our own perspectives and how we personally get through challenges. This got me thinking… and the idea of creating a community that shares about difficulties and how every single person has managed to overcome their own difficulties was born. We all have situations and ways of handling them in life…why not share and build each other up? More info to come shortly 🙂

I desire to let others know that they can and will get through whatever challenge they are facing. Life isn’t going to get any easier and I hope to share some knowledge with you. I may not be perfect in the answers I have, but I’ll be sharing how I got through my own challenges.

Come follow me on my journey that I never expected to be on. Life is full of surprises and I am excited to be able to As of right now, I plan on staying consistent with publishing blogs, creating YouTube videos, posting on social media, and connecting with you!

  • Achieve the Impossible Today blog posts every Monday & Friday
  • Uncovering Joy blog posts every Thursday
  • YouTube vlogs every Friday
  • Daily posts on all social media accounts

Thank you for reading! If you have a way that helps to create the best version of yourself every day, let me know in the comments. I would love to hear what you are doing. Let’s work on building a community filled of support and sharing. We are better together. We all go through challenging times and have the opportunity to help each other.

Have a fantastic day! Hope to see you again soon. You are loved and appreciated.
